Property Conveyancing

Paul completed a TAFE Certificate in Land Broking in December 1987 and became registered with the Office of Business and Consumer Affairs SA as a Registered Conveyancer in February 1988.

Paul is a member of the Australian Institute of Conveyancing (SA Division) and we regularly attend industry seminars to keep up to date with the ever changing property industry landscape.

We hold the necessary Professional Indemnity Insurance to protect the consumer. 

What is a Conveyancer?

A Conveyancer (or Land Broker as we were known as up until 1984) is engaged to ensure that the real estate property in South Australia that you are either purchasing or selling is legally transferred from the vendor to the purchaser.  We protect the interest of the vendor and the purchaser and ensure that the property contract is settled in accordance with the sale contract.  We provide a personalised service with staff who make sure this most important transaction is completed effiviently for you.

As the purchaser or vendor of the property, you have every right to choose your own Conveyancer and you are under no obligation to take the recommendation or the direction of the Real Estate Agent.


Residential Property      

If you are purchasing or selling a property you occupy or as an investment, we can assist you all the way through the process from the signing of the contract, to providing a referral to leading Mortgage Brokers, to assessing the income tax consequences of an investment property to the settlement of the property when the property transaction process is completed.

We attend to all the legal requirements, can organise your property finance and co-ordinate the settlement process.

As accountants, we can assist you with all tax matters associated with property ownership, including rental property, negative gearing and capital gains tax (CGT).

Commercial Property        

Buying and selling commercial property can be a complicated matter (more complicated than residential property) and require specialist conveyancing skills. Finlay Financial Strategies has acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with all commercial transactions.

Private Contracts

If you intend to purchase or sell property without using a Real Estate Agent, we can undertake the preparation of the necessary contract and Form 1 on your behalf. You negotiate the contractual conditions and we document them.

Business Settlement

We can efficiently and effectively complete the settlement for the sale and the purchase of business. We are experienced in preparing contracts, if required, and are fully conversant with the intricacies associated with the sale and purchase of businesses.

How We Charge

Our property conveyancing charges for a residential purchase and/or sale is $990.00 (including GST) per transaction. This includes identification/verification procedures.

Property search disbursements, stamp duty, LTO document lodgement fees, bank loan settlement fees will be charged accordingly.

Search fees are charged on a reimbursement of monies spent basis.
